my learning story

In the past few weeks in since we have be doing experiment my favourite experiment was making crystals. The way we did it was. That you would put four spoons of salt and then put hot water in the same cup  get a popsicle stick and string and I tie the string to the popsicle stick. I like to do that experience.

I was in a gorp with Jessica,, Brodie we worked good together we got our crystals done in time we had enough to wheat 2days for the crystals to work. When i got my crystals it look like a snowflake.

when the crystals came out of the water i was like is this right because the crystals was defeated colour then jessica and brodie so i show mr power said that it was right because i was doing the broxe one.

When we were doing the blog post i did not know what to do so i aks mr power he said that all i had to do was talk about the  crystal how it turned out and what it looked like and how we did it step by step

When mrs power asks everyone  to come to the mat i am most of the time the first one to the mat. And when he say go of and do your work i have my book on the table and i get most of my work done.

When we get told to use are chromebook i can be trusted to use my chromebook  because i am not the wrong thing and i am always doing my work that i get told to  do.

AIM: DESIGN AN EXPERIMENT THAT TESTS THE AMOUNT OF SALT THAT MUST BE IN WATER BEFORE IT WILL NOT FREEZE WHEN LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE FREEZER.

Image result for salt and water

When we design an experiment there are some important questions that we must answer first. This is part of the planning stage and will help to give us some ideas.

Record these answers on your blog.

The Plan.

Task 1; Read the question carefully and write the answer to these questions.

  1. What do we need to find out how much slat it takes to make water not freeze
  2. How will we find it out by doing the experiment at your house
  3. How will we record what we find my put on you docs
  4. What equipment do we need for the experiment salt a cup of water and a freezer
  5. How long will it take overnight

The Procedure

Task 2: What are the steps that you will take to make the experiment?

List them in 6 steps.

Step 1;you will need to get you ingredients
Step 2:get a cup of water
Step 3:get you slat
Step 4:put the slat in the cup of water
Step 5:put it in the  freezer
Step 6:then take it out

The Process

Task 3: Draw on a piece of A4 paper the 6 steps that you will use to test the amount of salt in water before freezing. When we are making drawings in science  it needs to be labelled clearly, kept tidy and named. Once you have completed the drawing it must be photographed and uploaded to your blog.

In your drawing you will use:
  1. Beakers
  2. Water
  3. Measuring spoons or cups
  4. Salt

when we have a reliever

today with our reliever I

sat outside a did some silent reading. then I finish my book I aks him if I could finish some  mathletics.

when we have guests in our class I should
not aks if I could sit outside with hayley and danielle.I should sit in my set and do my wrok.

next time I will

not aks if I can sit outside to do my work. I will sit in my sit and not live it to I am told to.

crystals

Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals

Definition of solution
A liquid mixture, when something is dissolved into a liquid (eg: sugar in water)

Definition of saturated
Having or holding as much as can be absorbed of something (when no more sugar or borax can be dissolved into the water)

In groups of three you will make three different types of crystals and compare the results.
