Rainbow Colours




Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.


Definition: A technique for separating the different parts of a mixture / solid using liquid.

Rainbow paper

Materials;

1. Filter paper
2. cup
3. felts
4. water
5. pencil
6. ruler

Process:

Step 1: you get your filter paper pencil  ruler
Step 2: then you draw out your lines 0ne 1cm and on 2cm
Step 3: red green and black dots on the 1cm line and fold the 2cm line
Step 4:put you paper in a cup and then
Step 5:
Step 6:

Findings: Write about what happened.
The colours went up the paper and turned into different colours.
Reflection: What have I learnt from this experiment?

I learnt that a colour stays normal when it’s dry but when you add water it turns different.
